About Me

Working mainly from my studio at home in Fortherby near Louth, I paint mainly landscapes of the wilder parts of Britain.  I love to walk on the moors, mountains and coast of this beautiful country and always carry a sketchbook and a few pencils with me.

Over the years these sketches have built into a visual diary into which I can dip for ideas and inspirations.  I am particularly interested in the way man has tried to influence the landscape and very often failed, as nature reclaims mines, quarries and old stone cottages.

In the 1990s I lived in the North Pennines for several years and the experience of living in such spectacular scenery has shaped my approach to painting ever since.
